With the ending of the 2017-2018 school year, so ends the 2017-2018 girl’s swimming season. The team finished strong and took the gold medal at El Dorado.

“Winning League wasn’t really a new experience for me,” Sadie Harris, 11, said. “As we’ve won the past two years as well.”

This is the third season in a row that the Mavericks have taken first place at League.

“I believe that we have won five times this season,” Harris said. “But I don’t know that for sure.”

Since the season is nearing its end, some of the Lady Mavericks reflected on the good times during the season.

“I remember this weekend I was swimming against a girl from Andover,” Brynn Nusz, 10, said. “And we were neck and neck when we touched the wall it was like Boom Boom. It was probably like a couple hundredths of a second in between the times we touched. I got second, but it doesn’t matter because I got the best time of the season.”

Some even have plans on coming back next year.

“I am coming back next year because this year was really fun,” Grace Ingram, 10, said. “I made a lot of new friends. We’re not just teammates when we swim, we’re like family.”
