South’s soccer team took on their former teammates, scoring three goals and ending the game with a shutout.

On Aug 22, Bryce Bowman,11, scored the first goal giving his team a lead over the alumni. The ball did not find its way to the back of the net again until Raul Gerhardus,9, took his shot, making the score 2-0. Forward Andrew Bliss, 11, tore through the alumni’s back line placing his shot on frame. The ball sailed into the goal sealing in the victory for the Mavericks.

“I would say it would have to be seeing all the alumni come back and play,” Greg Shelly, assistant coach, said when asked about the most exciting part of the game. “As well as seeing the current team competing with them.”
