Blake Smith, science, won a trip with a conference to Washington, D.C. with all expenses paid from Wichita State University’s Transition to Teaching. He received an honorable mention for his application to the National Association for Alternative Certification Scholarship.

“Yes (traveling to Washington, D.C.) will be a good experience to learn from other teachers,” Smith said.

Smith was one of eight teachers around the country to win the scholarship.

USD 266 already has agreed for Smith to be released on the days during the conference. He will leave in early March which the conference will last March 1-3.
