The Art community is on a roll and one of our own art teachers has joined the show. Dan Gegen, art, along with other art teachers from Wichita were featured in the “7 Ceramic Viewpoints”–Holiday Show and Sale. The Fiber Studio, located on 418 Commerce, is hosting the art show. The show began on Final Friday, Nov. 25, and is running through to Dec. 30.

“The opening night had a great turn out. I was glad to see that people came out to see the clay work,” Gegen said.

The art show was put on by the artists themselves. The artists’ pieces showed quite a variety, featuring clay works from pots, coffee mugs, plates and bowls. Some works were functional but there were other pieces that were just for show. Also the pieces were for sale, which Gegen believes would be a great holiday gift.

“It was a good representation of clay work in Wichita. The show speaks highly of the art teachers. We are more than just art teachers, we are artists as well,” Gegen said.
