On Sept 12 and 13 the freshman football team played Eldorado and Goddard Eisenhower. Going 40-7 at the Eldorado game and 26-8 in the Goddard Eisenhower, the team is now undefeated. Lonnie Ward-Scifres, 9, is excited to play football.
“I love my position and what I do,” Scifres, who plays quarterback, said. “I also love tackling.”
With two games back-to-back training hasn’t been easy. Cole Koster, 9, practices by doing a lot of exercise.
“We have to do a lot of sprints, and get in shape,” Koster said.
Brent Pfeifer, coach, is proud of the team’s progress.
“Maverick football is currently undefeated on all levels. They are doing great!” Pfeifer said.
