Tonight’s homecoming game will be a match up against the Valley Center Hornets. Kickoff is promptly at 7:00 p.m.

According to the Topeka Capital Journal, the  Mavs are favored 48 points over the Hornets. Coming off last week’s 0-3 loss against Goddard Eisenhower, the boys are sure to come out determined. Injuries thus far include quarterback Korie Frausto, out for six weeks with a fractured wrist, and Mac Evans, out with a torn ACL.

Prior to the start of the game, the homecoming royalty ceremony will occur at 6:30 p.m.

Candidates include Juniors Lexie Hennessy, Cole Christian, Kamryn McCarthy, Jack Domnick, Alanna Lacy and Garrett Holmes, and Seniors Emily Baker, Caleb Peterson, Nikki McCormick, Josh Lewis, Karli Kubik, Mac Evans, Mackenzie Pounds and Gio Delgado. A junior prince and princess will be crowned, followed by a senior king and queen.

Vype Magazine will cover tonight’s game, along with a live radio broadcast from 99.7 Lite FM. The halftime show will consist of a performance from the MSHS Mavette dance team and the pep band, as well as the cheerleading team. Tonight’s game and dance is Hawaiian-themed and the homecoming dance will begin at 9:30 p.m., immediately following the game.

Come out tonight to support your Maverick football team and participate in homecoming festivities.
